Terms of use

Last updated 14 Oct 2026

These terms apply when you use the MyLyft app or this website. By creating an account you agree to them, so please read them. “MyLyft”, “we” and “us” mean [company legal name and registered address, to be added].

1. What MyLyft is

MyLyft connects drivers who are already making a trip with passengers going the same way. Drivers post their route and spare seats, passengers book a seat, meet the driver at a point on the route, and pay a fare in cash to share the cost of the trip.

MyLyft is not a taxi or transport company. We do not employ drivers or own vehicles. Each ride is an arrangement between the driver and the passengers, and MyLyft provides the app that lets them find each other.

2. Who can use MyLyft

  • You must be 18 or older, hold a valid CNIC and have a Pakistani mobile number.
  • You may have only one account, and the information in it must be true and about you.
  • To offer rides you must also hold a valid driving licence for your vehicle, have its registration, and keep it roadworthy and insured as the law requires. [Insurance requirement to be confirmed.]
  • MyLyft is for sharing the cost of trips you are making anyway. Drivers must not use it to run a commercial taxi service.

3. Your account and verification

  • You sign in with your mobile number and a one-time SMS code. Keep your phone secure. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
  • Before you can book or offer rides, you upload photos of your CNIC, and drivers also upload their licence and registration. Our team reviews them and may ask you to upload them again.
  • A verified badge means we checked the documents a user gave us. It is not a guarantee of how anyone will behave, so use your own judgement too.

4. Offering and booking rides

  • Drivers must post accurate routes, departure times, seats and vehicle details, and keep them up to date.
  • Passengers request seats. The driver can accept or decline each request. A booking is confirmed only when the driver accepts it.
  • The pickup and drop-off are points on the driver’s route. Agree the exact spot in the chat and be there on time.
  • If your plans change, cancel in the app as early as you can. Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may lead to your account being restricted.
  • Women-only rides can be offered only by women drivers and booked only by women passengers. Giving false information to get access to them will lead to suspension.

5. Fares and cash payments

  • The app calculates each fare from the distance along the route and the current fuel price, and shows it before you book. Fares are per seat.
  • Passengers pay the fare in cash to the driver at the end of the ride. Drivers mark the fare as received in the app.
  • Drivers must not ask for more than the fare shown in the app.
  • Drivers owe MyLyft a platform fee on the fares they collect. The app shows the fee for each ride, and we will tell you how to settle it. [Settlement method to be confirmed.]
  • MyLyft does not handle cash. If there is a disagreement about payment, contact us and we will help, but we are not responsible for cash that changes hands between users.

6. Your responsibilities

Everyone using MyLyft agrees to:

  • Treat other users with respect. No harassment, threats, discrimination or unwanted contact, in the car, in chat or afterwards.
  • Follow the law, including traffic law. Wear a seatbelt.
  • Not carry anything illegal or dangerous, and not ride or drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  • Use other users’ information only for the ride you share, and not share it with anyone else.
  • Not misuse the app: no fake accounts, false documents, false reports, or attempts to get around our checks.

Drivers also agree to drive safely, carry no more passengers than the car has seats for, and keep to the route they posted.

7. Safety features

Share my ride lets you send a live link of your ride to people you trust. The emergency button calls a local emergency number, such as Police 15 or Rescue 1122, and sends an alert with your last location to our team.

MyLyft is not an emergency service and cannot guarantee how quickly anyone will respond. If you are in danger, contact the police or rescue services directly.

8. Ratings, reports and suspension

  • After a ride, drivers and passengers can rate each other. Ratings must be honest and about the ride.
  • You can report a user in the app. Our team reviews reports and may contact the people involved.
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk, or gives false information. Where it is safe to do so, we will tell you why.

9. Our responsibility to you

We work to keep MyLyft available, accurate and safe, but we cannot promise it will always work without interruption or that every ride will go as planned. Rides are arranged between users, so, as far as the law allows, MyLyft is not responsible for the conduct of drivers or passengers, or for loss or damage that happens during a ride. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the law of Pakistan that cannot be limited. [Liability wording to be set by a lawyer.]

10. Ending your account

You can delete your account in the app at any time. Our privacy policy explains what happens to your information when you do.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as MyLyft changes. If a change is important, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use MyLyft after that means you accept the updated terms.

12. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. [Courts with jurisdiction to be confirmed.]
